Rant of the Day-Handicap Parking Spots - 01/02/2013
So I am going to have to admit that before my father had his Below the Knee Amputation (BKA) that I wasn't too concerned about handicap parking because I never got to use it. I did wonder about the people who didn't seem to be handicapped who used the spots, but not really too much. Well lately, since I have been taking my father places and having to park in handicapped places I have been noticing that the world is full of assholes. I am sorry, but there are different levels of handicap. I find that if you can walk around a store with oxygen then is there really a need for you to park in the Van Handicap spot. What pisses me off the most is watching a person who is able to walk out of the store and get into their car that is parked in a handicap spot clearly marked for a van while I struggle to get my father's wheelchair out of the van in a parking spot at the back of the parking lot because that is the only spot I could find that someone would not park so close that I could not get the wheelchair back up to the door. So is it really asking so much for the people who can walk to stay out of the van accessible handicap spots for the people in wheelchairs?
