Rajanna ** The nadaswaram also called nagaswaram is one of the most popular classical wind instruments of south India and the world's loudest non-brass acoustic instrument. The nadaswaram is considered to be very auspicious as 'Mangala Vadhyam' and it is the key instrument which is played in all Hindu marraiges and temples of South India.. The instrument is usually played in pairs, and accompanied by a pair of drums called Tavil. This product brings to you a marvelous concert by one of the leading Nadaswara Vidwans of Tamilnadu, Sembanarkovil Sri. S.R.G Rajanna. He is the son and disciple of the renowned Nadaswara Vidwan Sri. S.R.Govindaswamy Pillai. He is also trained under his maternal uncle Pandanallur Sri.Govindaswamy Pillai & Sri. Venugopal Pillai. It is worthy to note that the Sembanarkovil family has been instrumental in preserving and propagating this ancient art for over 150 years. The hallmark of this concert is a superb, soul stirring rendition of raga Kanada. Sri. S.R.G.Rajanna has performed extensively in Bramhotsavams and Mahakumbabishekams of temples and reputed Sabhas in various parts of the country and abroad. He has the honor of being Asthana Vidwan at Arulmigu Srinivasa Perumal temple in Singapore.
